Position paper - Late Payment Regulation - Updated Position April 2024

On 20 March 2024, the European Parliament Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) adopted its draft Report on the Late Payments Directive (Revision): Proposal for a Regulation COM(2023) 533 (LPR) file. The IMCO Report will be considered by the plenary of the European Parliament on 23 April. Co-legislators should consider amendments that reflect the need for a differentiated approach; the need for flexible payment deadlines; eliminate any notification requirement; as well as the introduction of a 'grandfather' clause.
