Position paper - Letter calling for a proper stakeholder consultation mechanism on the Common Toolbox for the EU Electronic Identification scheme (eID)

Stakeholder feedback is a crucial element of regulatory procedures. Thus, the Common Toolbox for the EU Electronic Identification Scheme (eID) should have a proper stakeholder consultation mechanism. Although several Member States have expressed their interest in receiving feedback, no public consultation mechanism is foreseen for the ongoing work on the EU eID 'Common Toolbox' carried out by the eIDAS expert group. In the following letter, AmCham EU expresses its concerns and recommendations for this regulatory procedure.
