A delegation of the Healthcare Committee of AmCham EU met on Tuesday 7 April with Mary-Sumpter Lapinski, Health Policy Director for the majority staff of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP Committee) and Grace Stuntz, FDA Policy Advisory.

The overall objective of the meeting was for the US Congressional Delegation to better understand how innovative drugs and medical devices are put on the market in Europe and to compare the US and EU approaches to ensure safe and fast access to innovative drugs. In particular, the discussion focused on the Innovative Medicines Initiative, adaptive pathways, identification of biomarkers, and how to ensure that regulatory authorities benefit from the best possible expertise.
