February Plenary meeting focuses on the Emissions Trading System (ETS)
On Tuesday, 16 February 2016, AmCham EU held its monthly Plenary meeting on the proposed reform of the Emissions Trading System.
Jérôme Bandry, EU Government Affairs Director at Caterpillar, and Chair of the Transport, Energy and Climate Committee of AmCham EU, moderated a panel discussion on ‘How can the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) reform support competitiveness and investment in Europe?’.
The panel featured Ian Duncan, Member of the European Parliament (ECR, UK) and Rapporteur for the file; Jorgen Knud Henningsen, Senior Adviser on Energy and Environment at the European Policy Centre (EPC); Takashi Hattori, Head of Environment and Climate Change Unit at the International Energy Agency; and Audrey Douspis, EU Affairs Manager at Michelin and AmCham EU’s co-rapporteur for ETS.
Yvon Slingenberg, Senior Adviser, Cabinet of Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete, European Commission, delivered the keynote address on the Commission’s reform proposal and answered a range of questions from members.
