AmCham EU meets with Dutch Government Representatives in The Hague
A delegation of ten AmCham EU members travelled to The Hague for two days of meetings (from the 8-9 December) with representatives of the Dutch government. The delegation met with several representatives from several ministries and discussed issues related to trade, digital, energy, environment, financial services, social affairs among others.
The meetings were an opportunity to discuss the preparations and priorities of the upcoming Dutch Presidency of the Council in the European Union as well they provided an opportunity for members to relay AmCham EU’s business priorities. The overall exchanges were very useful in getting an understanding of how the Dutch government wants to steer the EU for the next six months.
Despite a challenging and complex geo-political situation such as the migration crisis and security concerns across the continent the Dutch government will also focus on the many legislative files that remain open by allocating and adapting resources. The Dutch Presidency has prioritised the files that will strengthen the Single Market stimulating economic growth and job creation. AmCham EU looks forward to working closely with the Dutch Presidency and in particular to participating in many of the planned events during the next six months.
