Customs & Trade Facilitation

Short letter regarding the implementation of the Union Customs Code (UCC), ahead of the exchange of views in the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) Committee of the European Parliament on 21 June 2017 with Pierre Moscovici, European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs.

In the letter, we recommend that IMCO Members ask Commissioner Moscovici what the European Commission plans to do to ensure that the essential safety and security and trade facilitation measures mandated by the UCC will be provided by 31 December 2020, instead of being delayed for another three to five years, as suggested in recent statements by the European Commission.
