Europe at a crossroads: Where do we go from here?
AmCham EU hosted on Wednesday 9 November a high-level policy discussion entitled, “Europe at a crossroads: Where do we go from here?”
The event highlight featured a panel discussion with Karel De Gucht, former European Commissioner for Trade; Gunter Verheugen, former European Commissioner for Enterprise and Industry, and Aongus Hegarty, President, EMEA, Dell EMS. Moderated by AmCham EU CEO Susan Danger, the panelists explored how the EU should best address the challenges and opportunities it is currently facing.
The event also saw the launch of AmCham EU’s Agenda for Action Scorecard 2017, which measures the progress the EU is making against AmCham EU’s action areas for growth, as well as offering an outlook and proposing policy recommendations for the coming year.
To conclude the event, AmCham EU presented its annual Youth Entrepreneurship Award 2016 in partnership with JA Europe. This year’s winners are MeetingPackage.com, an online platform dedicated to the booking of meeting rooms. It allows users to compare various meeting venues and prices at a glance, on one easy-to-use site. Joonas Ahola and Saku Loukonen, the founders of the site, were present to collect the award and discuss their plans for the future. The winners receive a cash prize of €10,000, along with several hours of mentorship over a 12-month period from a number of AmCham EU’s Executive Council representatives.
