Position paper - EU Batteries Regulation

The European Commission has proposed an EU Battery Regulation, while the European Parliament and the Council of the EU are working towards a final text to replace Battery Directive 2006/66/EC. The Battery Regulation will be one of the key legislative proposals that should support and facilitate the uptake of the battery industry as well as the use of batteries in different applications. It is critical to make batteries placed on the EU market ‘sustainable, high-performing and safe all along the entire life cycle.’
