Leadership update

AmCham EU is pleased to announce recent election results from the end of 2024 and beginning of the year and welcome these new and re-elected leaders. We wish successful terms to Katharina Bryan (Amazon), Sophie Claessens (Amazon), Bernd Ewers (RTX) and Claudia Selli (AT&T INC.). The Secretariat would also like to thank the member who is stepping down for the extraordinary work she completed during her term: Sabine Van Depoele (Fedex).  

Please find below a detailed list of the recent appointments to leadership positions:    

  • Katharina Bryan (Amazon), confirmed Vice-chair, Sustainable Finance Committee 

  • Sophie Claessens (Amazon), confirmed Vice-chair, Customs and Trade Facilitation Committee 

  • Bernd Ewers (RTX), re-elected Vice-chair, Transport, Energy and Climate Committee  

  • Claudia Selli (AT&T INC.), re-elected Chair, Transatlantic Task Force

Donating to those in need

On Friday, 5 December, AmCham EU continued its tradition of hosting members, staff, family and friends for an afternoon of giving back to the community. During the event, we packed boxes with nonperishable items for The Samaritans’ Shoe-Box project, which have been delivered to Eglise du Finistere in Brussels. They will now be distributed to those in need around the city. Thanks to everyone who joined!

Building Europe’s water future, together

Meeting with Deputy Secretary Landau to advance transatlantic cooperation

On Tuesday, 2 December, AmCham EU took part in a roundtable discussion with Christopher Landau, US Deputy Secretary of State. With the implementation of the EU-US Framework Agreement moving forward, the discussions focused on building a more stable and competitive transatlantic business environment. Participants discussed the importance of an open Single Market and the urgency to move ahead with the EU’s work on simplification. The exchange also underlined the value of the transatlantic marketplace as a springboard for American companies to compete globally. Strengthening the partnership makes both sides more resilient and better positioned to respond to strategic challenges, including those posed by non-market economies.
