AmCham EU met with Stefan Selig, US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, on Tuesday, 19 April 2016. 

Mr. Selig discussed the transatlantic economic and commercial relationship, including TTIP, data flows, and the digital economy with a number of AmCham EU members.

Ohlhausen, US Federal Trade Commissioner, for a lunch meeting focusing on the internationalisation of antitrust policy and the challenges raised in emerging jurisdictions, as well as the relationship between competition, consumer protection and privacy.

Susan Danger shortlisted for Chief Executive of the Year

Congratulations to Susan Danger, Managing Director of AmCham EU, who was shortlisted for the Chief Executive of The Year Award at the Associations Awards 2016. The other two shortlisted candidates were Jeroo Billimoria, Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) and Grégoire Pavillon, European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL). Mr. Pavillon went on to win the Award.

The ceremony took place during the Associations Network’s World Congress in Berlin.

Ms. Danger also gave a presentation on AmCham EU’s advocacy work entitled ‘Steps to becoming a trusted policy partner’.

On Thursday, 3 March 2016, AmCham EU welcomed Ambassador Reinhard Silberberg, Permanent Representative of Germany to the EU, for an informal luncheon with the Board. Ambassador Silberberg, who previously served as German Ambassador to Spain and as head of the EU affairs department in the German Chancellor’s office, shared his views on the latest political and economic developments in the EU. On Monday, 22 February 2016, the AmCham EU Secretariat travelled to Coca-Cola’s plant in Antwerp for an off-site team building. The excursion included a tour of the Visitors Centre and a visit of the Coca-Cola production and distribution centre. We would like to thank Coca-Cola for this great opportunity, especially Nikolaus Tacke for arranging the visit and Nadia Tesseur for serving as our Tour Guide.
