EU Presidency Outreach delegation visit kicks off

A delegation of AmCham EU members will travel to Bratislava, Slovakia, from Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 May 2016 to present AmCham EU's policy recommendations to the Slovakian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Susan Danger, Managing Director, and Roger Coelho, Policy Manager, were in Washington DC from Sunday 8 May to Tuesday 10 May for the USA Conference of the AmChams in Europe (ACE) network. The ACE delegation included representatives from 35 AmChams in Europe and wider Europe.

TTIP Member State study presented to ECR MEPs in Strasbourg

On Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 April, Karl Cox, Chairman, AmCham EU, Susan Danger, Managing Director, AmCham EU, and a delegation of AmCham EU members attended the Hannover Messe, the world’s largest trade fair for industrial technology. For the first time in its history, the Messe was run with the US as the lead partner country, and many AmCham EU member companies were present at the exhibition.

Ohlhausen, US Federal Trade Commissioner, for a lunch meeting focusing on the internationalisation of antitrust policy and the challenges raised in emerging jurisdictions, as well as the relationship between competition, consumer protection and privacy.

Susan Danger shortlisted for Chief Executive of the Year

Congratulations to Susan Danger, Managing Director of AmCham EU, who was shortlisted for the Chief Executive of The Year Award at the Associations Awards 2016. The other two shortlisted candidates were Jeroo Billimoria, Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) and Grégoire Pavillon, European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL). Mr. Pavillon went on to win the Award.

The ceremony took place during the Associations Network’s World Congress in Berlin.

Ms. Danger also gave a presentation on AmCham EU’s advocacy work entitled ‘Steps to becoming a trusted policy partner’.

On Thursday, 24 March 2016, AmCham EU supported a roundtable event on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) in London, UK.  Entitled “What will TTIP mean for the UK?” and hosted by EurActiv, the event brought together key representatives from government, business and civil society to discuss TTIP and explore its possible ramifications for the UK.
