Position paper - Joint industry call for an EU approach to packaging waste labelling

On Thursday, 24 June AmCham EU co-signed a letter addressed to various European Commissioners calling for improved harmonisation of EU requirements on packaging waste-sorting labelling across the single market. While supporting the European Commission's ambitions to build a circular economy, the letter highlights that an EU approach that is consistent across Member States must be at the centre of efforts to achieve Europe's sustainability goals. The letter also provides concrete examples of national labellig initiatives which risk undermining the single market and companies' ability to operate seamlessly within it.
