David McAllister awarded AmCham EU Transatlantic Business Award

Brussels, 3 June 2016 – The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) was pleased to award David McAllister, MEP (EPP, DE) its eleventh Transatlantic Business Award at its Gala Evening. The award was created to acknowledge those who help strengthen and promote the EU-US economic relationship. Past winners include David O’Sullivan, Chief Operating Officer, European External Action Service (2014); The Honorable William E. Kennard, U.S. Ambassador to the EU (2012); and Christine Lagarde, French Minister for the Economy, Industry & Employment (2009).

David McAllister became a member of the European Parliament in 2014 and is a Vice President of the European People’s Party (EPP). In an effort to be a stronger voice in transatlantic relations, he assumed chairmanship of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with the United States. McAllister was recently ranked as one of the top 40 most influential MEPs by Politico Europe and is also a Fellow of The German Marshall Fund of the United States. He served as Prime Minister of Lower Saxony from 2010 until 2013.
