Seán joined AmCham EU in October 2020 as a Policy Adviser. He is responsible for the Healthcare and Competition Policy Committees, as well as the Institutional Affairs Task Force.
Prior to joining AmCham EU Seán completed a traineeship with EuropaBio, the European biotechnology industry associations, and has previously worked in civil litigation, consulting and research roles.
Seán holds a Ph.D in Law from the University of Manchester. His doctoral research looked at the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation as it is applied by the EU's Horizon 2020 framework programme and the impact of RRI on the regulation of new sciences and technologies - specifically synthetic biology. He further holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) in Medical Law from Queen Mary University of London, and an M.Sc in Bioethics from KU Leuven. He completed his bachelor studies in Law and Society at Dublin City University.
An Irish national, Seán is fluent in Dutch and has a basic knowledge of German, French and Italian.
